In the summer of 2020, I worked as a Global Technology Intern for Nike, Inc. I was a member on the product development team, working with one of the industry-leading FlexPLM systems where information about footwear, apparel, and costing is stored and used by over 4000 users worldwide. In this position, I learned a lot about monitoring logging data, using application performance management platforms such as Splunk, New Relic, and Dynatrace to create effective company dashboards for many teams within my organization. I also got hands-on experience using SQL databases to query important metrics that had not been recorded before. On the side, Nike put the interns into different groups to complete a “Nike Combine” project, where we designed a prototype for a new Nike Membership platform. This was a very special summer experience, and I am very grateful for my manager and mentors who guided me along the way.
In the summer of 2019, I interned at Cboe Global Markets, an options exchange in Chicago. I worked in the Information Solutions department, specifically working with LiveVol, a subscription-based data analytics platform for investors. Some of the highlights of my work included repairing and updating earnings data using mySQL, assessing API data using Python, and communicating globally with AI companies to learn about their products, as well as sell our own.
In the summer of 2018, I interned at CME Group, a derivatives market in Chicago. I was a business analyst intern working on the Alfabet platform, which helped organize and group all of the applications and data flows of the company into a central location. In this position, I learned a lot about maintaining a SQL database and was introduced to applications of HTML and CSS.
